Description

Arthur P. Higgins designed this unusual Respiratory Assistance Apparatus for Pug to help the short-nosed breed breathe with greater ease. The illustration depicts a detailed anatomical drawing of a dog wearing a specialized mask and bellows system, rendered in a classic sepia-toned parchment style that mimics authentic antique documentation from the early twentieth century. Technical lines and labeling provide a scholarly aesthetic, balancing the whimsical subject matter with a refined, historical appearance that captures the eccentric spirit of historical invention sketches. Every fine line and mechanical detail is preserved to showcase the intricate contraption strapped to the canine subject.

Collectors of curiosities and dog enthusiasts find this piece a conversation starter for studies, hallways, or veterinary office walls. It serves as an ideal gift for anyone who appreciates the intersection of history and canine humor, blending Victorian-era engineering concepts with the beloved personality of a stout, flat-faced pug. The neutral palette fits easily into various interior decor schemes, providing a sophisticated nod to the past while maintaining a lighthearted mood. Choose a frame that complements the aged paper texture to complete the look of a genuine historical discovery. Shop this unique piece for a personal collection today.
